Today’s Wendy’s day and I’m gonna be the bridesmaid. I dread walking down the aisle myself but it’s gonna be good practice I guess…. orders were barked during the rehearsal - don’t walk so fast, don’t slouch, smile, slow down, chin up, smile, stop making funny faces. Sigh.
I’ve know Wendy and Noel a long time and it’s about time these two got hitched. Gonna keep my lil speech short and sweet and have deleted the lame-o jokes. I had to wake up at 6am (a WHOLE 30mins earlier than my usual) going over the torture the groom (a chinese tradition) and then to Holy Family. I hope I don’t cry! Dinner’s at Orchard Parade Hotel and there will be wine flowing and after my work as a bridesmaid is done I intend to get nicely sloshed.
It’s been a year filled with weddings and everyone strives on making theirs that lil more special, I just wanna have fun at mine. But before that there will be seating plans and the little nitty gritty to deal with.
So to Wendy & Noel… my aim today is to get seriously funny yet touching photos so…. chin up, funny faces and strike a pose. Hugs to you both.

The wife-to-be did something yesterday for me that can only be described as “unselfish”. You see, my family is very important to me and w-t-b aka Marie knows that. How can she not with the countless times I have said it to her. She has heard it all:
“they will go above and beyond for me”
“they’ll do anything for me and now, for us”
“they’ll take the trouble to…”
Yadda yadda yadda…
But yesterday, when Marie was all secretive and “leave the house for 1 hour” etc, I was certain she planned a romantic night for the two of us to celebrate my 32nd year of life (yes I know I have a great figure and skin tone but I am over 30). I was hungry and ready to boot my parents out the door by the time it was 7pm. Next thing I knew, my 10 month old nephew, Liam, was at the bedroom door giving me his usual stunned look and by 8pm my entire family was having a wonderful spaghetti and meatballs dinner prepared by of course the w-t-b. Followed by a bangin cheese cake dessert!
Truth is, I was looking forward to having just Marie by my side yesterday night but the fact she took the trouble to get my family together and cook for them made it a different, deeper kind of romancing, the kind that sets alight something more than wax and wick.
No doubt, I’m marrying above and beyond me.

Less than 6 weeks till THE DAY, sent out some email invitations, invitations to overseas guest were sent out ages ago, passed some to my friends. Due to a certain co-ordinator at the hotel not really being up to standard, I’m short of envelopes. Sigh. However, within the next two weeks everyone should receive their invitations… or I’m gonna freak-out. *hint hint*
Today, I’ll be going for my first dress fitting. Two minds about it… yes, I’m looking forward to it but I’m bloated and haven’t been sticking to any sort of diet so I don’t expect to be ravishing but I really don’t want to look like a sausage. I should have stuck to some big frou frou number. heh.

We had a plan…
Step 1 – Get Hitched
Step 2 – Go for our honeymoon
Step 3 – Get our own place
Step 4 – Get our own puppy
I kinda jumped to Step 4. I mean, really, how could I say no to … Stomper!

We’ve been given the option to engrave our rings. It has to be short, sweet & meaningful, which is obviously VERY difficult. The best I’ve come up with is BETTER THAN BACON for his ring. Anyone who knows me well knows how much I adore bacon. Mmmm…Baaacon.
I kid, I’ll keep thinking.

Two months to the big day and honestly I feel overwhelmed by the need to balance the wedding prep, work, workouts and the bride ; )
Marie and I haven’t attempted to kill one another yet (well I haven’t) and it’s probably coz I fly under the radar when bullets start flying and I’m just focused on turning up on October 20th.
Has she become the bride from hell? Not yet (but again, under the radar).
I refuse to be drawn into the madness which I know irritates Marie but seriously I see my key role as husband, not the groom. My biggest responsibility is the marriage, not the wedding. My greatest challenge is sustaining our love for us, not to entertain everyone with it.
Never been the “flash and dash” guy but I’ll try my best for one day…for Marie.

On Sat, we met our wedding couple. Christine & Philip, they seem really nice, easy going and I guess, meeting them helped put my mind at ease. They also mentioned that Fr Arro is pretty chill but a sucker for punctuality. Yeah, so I will do my very best to be ON TIME, cos a grumpy priest would seriously not be much fun.
I guess, no matter how much I try to do everything as early as possible certain things just have to wait while I fidget. Sigh, there’s this annoying buzz that won’t go away. Happens at all events…. the lead up, the invitations, the planning then…nothingness… it’s kinda eerie/strange, then finally, the rush to get everything going going going. I’m just so used to being the one to check, tableware, names, setup, etc etc…it’s gonna be hilarious to see me, hair in curlers, checking on the table setting.
